Yesterday, while trying to install AVG Antivirus 2012 on my Windows Vista-based system, I met an unexpected error. Though I selected the right file as per system compatibility, but what happened was extremely ridiculous.
I navigated to the antivirus support, which was actually a reseller of AVG products to find a quick fix for the issue. I called up the contact number and fortunately the call was responded. A technician came into rescue, after collecting some logical information, he asked for the remote access of the system. Being a skeptic person I opposed initially but then he assured me that it’s perfectly secure and you have the ownership to disconnect the line after the job is finished.
I agreed; and in next few seconds everything was set right. AVG was installed and configured. In fact, there was issue with the User Account Control function of the Windows Vista. He provided me the detail of the action, which was as follow:
On the taskbar, click “Start”.
Click “Control Panel”, and then click “User Accounts”.
Click Turn User Account Control on or off, and then clear the “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer” check box.
Click “OK”, and then restart the computer.
Now, I can search confidently. ‘Firewall settings’ keeps the spam e-mail at a bay, and I can add or delete e-mail addresses under whitelist/blacklist to ensure safe communication. Thanks antivirus help!
